Notice of Public Meeting
The City of Morenci will hold a public meeting on May 19, 2025, at the City of Morenci Offices, 118 Orchard St, Morenci, MI 49256 at 6:00 p.m., local time, on the proposed DWSRF Water System Improvements project for the purpose of receiving comments from interested persons.
The purpose of the proposed project is to provide improvements to the City’s water supply and treatment system and replace lead water service lines throughout the City of Morenci.
Project construction will involve two (2) new ground water supply wells, improvements to the water treatment facility, new water main on Orchard and East Union Streets, and replacement of lead water service lines.
The impact of the proposed project is Noise: Noise due to construction activities such as construction equipment, machinery, generators, compressors, etc., will be kept at a minimum as practical. The work hours will be maintained in accordance with local ordinances. Increased User Rates: An increase in user rates will be necessary to fund these improvements. The estimated cost of the proposed project is $6,030,000. The estimated annual cost for the user is $301.43.
